RAPID NeuroFascial Reset (RNFR) is an innovative and movement-based therapeutic technique that works with your nervous system to quickly alleviate the neurological hypersensitivity that causes pain, restriction, and inflammation. By treating your body on a neurological level, we can essentially “reprogram” your soft tissue.
Myofascial release (MFR) is an effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the layer of connective tissue between the skin and muscles. MFR can improve fluid dynamics, help with pain, and restore range of motion.
Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT) is a modality that uses a combination of medical assessments and osteopathic fascial techniques to find and treat lesions in the body.
Cupping can increase blood circulation, promote lymphatic function, aid in cellular repair, and improve flexibility. Cupping is often used in conjunction with other therapeutic massage techniques.
RAPID uses a a combination of hands on palpation, examination, and treatment. The RAPID therapist palpates the tissues with his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Hypersensitive areas are treated by combining precisely directed depth, tension with very specific patient movements.
Neurological Hypersensitivity
Utilizing a biopsychosocial perspective RAPID addresses the body’s perception of threat and danger. By bringing the brain to safety most painful conditions and ROM restrictions disappear. Using nociception and movement RAPID induces a combination of descending inhibition within the nervous system, and a powerful increase in vasodilation. These together offer near immediate and lasting pain reduction in our patients.
Old injuries no more…
Though many painful conditions appear to have an insidious onset, very often they are a by-product of an old -possibly minor injury where, due to unforeseen factors, full healing was restricted. Biopsies on these areas have shown the tissue to contain concentrations of neuroimmunological factors, or the “chronic artifacts of inflammation”, these once healing cells are now known to be highly sensitizing to the nervous system often causing pain and dysfunction.
By applying RAPID, we can flush these areas, cause an increase in endogenous opioids and cannabinoids as well as create an influx of neuropeptides that are known to destroy these neuroimmunological factors which in turn desensitizes the nervous system.
